Pronouns: he, him, his
David is currently a pastor in Freehold, New Jersey and is a graduate of Hope College and Western Seminary in Holland, MI. Encouraged to pursue ministry at a young age, he felt an internal call through high school mission trips to urban environments where the church sought to transform lives in practical ways.
He has previously served at Joseph’s House Homeless Shelter in Troy, NY through the AIM program. While working with the homeless he continued to feel a call to explore God’s message for those often marginalized by church and society. In 2006-2007, David led a New Brunswick Classis team as they undertook a year-long series of forums on ministry with LGBTQ individuals. This laid the groundwork for several churches in the Classis to become open and affirming, with the New Brunswick Classis eventually adopting an open and affirming statement. He has also had training at Lombard Mennonite Peace Center in Conflict mediation, which is a values-based mediation process.
