What: Launching our 10th Anniversary with a Celebration Dinner
When: Monday, June 22nd, 6 PM
Where: Schenectady, NY
Room for All traces our beginnings to the Reformed Church General Synod meeting in June, 2005 in Schenectady, New York; specifically, the ecclesiastical trial of Rev. Dr. Norman Kansfield for having presided at the same-gender marriage of his daughter and her beloved. RfA was born out of the grief, solidarity and commitment to a new reality that rose up that night, and we haven’t looked back. Ten years later, our mission of support, education and advocacy for full LGBTQ inclusion in the life and ministry of the RCA widens in ways we could not have imagined!
And yet, even as our ministry expands, it is important to remember and reflect, and this anniversary gives us that opportunity. The Kansfield family will be our honored guests at a banquet at the elegant and historic Key Hall at Proctors in downtown Schenectady. In the days ahead, we’ll be seeking underwriters, table sponsors and supporters who want to help make this a real celebration! Watch for social media updates, emails and personal contacts. For now, mark your calendar; we hope you will be there in spirit or in presence!
