Each day before General Synod meets in Tucson, we’ll share a new prayer, devotional, or poem submitted by one of RfA’s board members, themed on the Fruits of the Spirit.
We also invite you to join us in praying for the delegates and members of the General Synod (the full list can be found here).
Today, we’re specifically holding those found on pages 6 and 7 in prayer (these include the delegates from the Regional Synod of Albany, the Regional Synod of Canada, and one delegate from the Regional Synod of the Far West).
Our prayer today was submitted by board member Rev. Jeremy Bork, themed on “love.” He brings us a blessing he found particularly moving, originally coming from the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters:
May God bless you in your frailty. When you stand defenseless in a world of domination and when your spirit is naked and vulnerable to forces beyond you, may you experience the cloak of God gently placed around your shoulders. May you be covered and protected by truth and goodness, and may you be wrapped in a realization of the power of God’s immense love for the least ones in and around you. May you be blessed by God’s Protective Love. – Maxine Shonk, OP
