This weekend, delegates from around the United States and Canada will convene in Palos Heights, Illinois to begin the Reformed Church in America’s General Synod. Over the course of these 6 days, OUTsights will be hosting reflections and prayers from Room for All board members and staff that are present as delegates or guests. Today we welcome RfA board member Darren Major, who is attending General Synod as a guest.
Hey God it’s us…
We are sitting on the edge of our seats waiting to hear from you. While we wait, our anxieties show up in the usual ways. Some are maneuvering and strategizing in hopes of directing an outcome. Others find themselves texting, tweeting and posting looking for some kind of digital validation. We are breaking bread and attempting to coax folks to “like” us. We all have desires of what we want to hear from you but few of us are bold enough to say…Your Will Be Done. As a body we find ourselves in kairos. What is decided here will impact the lives of so many of your people.
In that spirit, I’m asking simply that your will be done this weekend. I pray that the work from the Special Council and the proceeding councils be honored and your will be done. Take the agendas off the tables and let your will be done. Remove anything that doesn’t look or smell like you and let your will be done. We trust you God, because your word cannot fail. I pray we are all bold enough to free fall into your perfect will for our lives.
In all your phenomenal names I pray,
Amen
