Written during the 2023 Lent season, the I am Lenten Devotional is available to download and print. Unique to the Gospel of John are the “I Am” statements of Jesus. From “I am the bread of life” to “I am the vine,” each statement invites deeper curiosity about who Jesus is. During the seven weeks throughout Lent, RfA board members and chaplains reflected on the implications of these statements. This series builds to daily reflections during Holy Week where queer RCA folks respond to each statement. “If Jesus says he is the gate, what does that mean if I am in the closet?”

A Time to Seek: Study Guide on Sexual and Gender Diversity offers a concise review of current sociological, public health and scientific data regarding sexual orientation and gender. It also considers key Scriptural passages in light of contemporary understandings of sexual and gender diversity. The guide is designed for individual or group study, with discussion questions aimed at specific religious concerns, such as the interpretation of Scripture, the role of LGBT persons in faith communities, and the recognition of same-sex unions.
