Elliot is an Iowan political thinker, philosopher, theologian, and RCA fever dream. They received a diploma from Marshalltown Senior High School, a Bachelor of Arts from Central College (Pella, IA), a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York, and a Master of Sacred Theology from Drew University’s School of Theology (Madison, NJ). They are the first openly trans (nonbinary) person licensed to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Reformed Church in America (RCA) where they work on issues of queer and disabled equity. In 2022, they received a V.G. (title recognizing the defense of the faith) for their work on queer equity in the church surrounding the RCA’s Vision 2020 and disaffiliation process.
